Keeping Pets Safe in Cold Weather

As we start heading towards FREEZING temperatures, here are some tips for keeping your pets warm and safe in the extreme cold:
- Massage petroleum jelly or other paw protectants into paw pads before going outside to help protect from salt and chemical agents (booties can provide even more coverage!)
- Keep your furry friends well fed and hydrated in order to stay warm and keep skin from cracking!
- Make sure your pet has a warm place to sleep
- Antifreeze is a lethal poison for dogs and cats; clean up any spills, and do not leave them unattended where this might be accessible
